Winnipeg and Toronto’s Original Pictures and Los Angeles based MarVista Entertainment (MarVista) announce a first-time production and distribution collaboration on a new family holiday movie for Lifetime Channel, An En Vogue Christmas, starring Genelle Williams (The Latest Buzz, Bitten, Remedy), David Alan Grier (Bad Teacher, Bones, In Living Color), and Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron-Braggs and Rhona Bennett from multi-platinum, multi-award winning R&B sensation En Vogue.

Original Pictures serves as the production partner on An En Vogue Christmas and MarVista holds global distribution rights, excluding Canada. The movie has also been licensed by Lifetime in the U.S. and Shaw Media in Canada (Lifetime Canada). “We have a great partner in MarVista, an unbelievable cast and crew and the music of En Vogue. It’s great to work on a movie that uses such great singing and acting talent. This is really a fun and emotionally rewarding project,” said Kim Todd. “This Christmas story will be as much fun to make as it will be to watch.”

Slated to premiere Saturday, November 22nd, 2014 on Lifetime in Canada and the U.S., An En Vogue Christmas stars Williams as Kendall who, 10 years after her father passed, must face the imminent foreclosure of The Opera House--the club co-owned by Kent and his brother Marty (Grier). Desperate to save her father's legacy, Kendall enlists the help of her old friends Terry, Cindy and Rhona--otherwise known as the R&B powerhouse En Vogue--to put on a Christmas concert and keep the beloved club in business. But the ladies must overcome their own reluctance to reunite the group, as well as a challenging history with Marty, before getting back together and helping Kendall keep her home away from home--and the memory of her father-- from closing its doors forever.

An En Vogue Christmas is directed by Brian K. Roberts (Spun Out, Men With Brooms, The Drew Carey Show) from a script written by Dayna Lynne North (Single Ladies, Lincoln Heights, Veronica Mars). The telepic is produced by Original Pictures’ Kim Todd (Fargo (FX), Prosecuting Casey Anthony) and Nicholas Hirst (Midnight Sun, Tasmanian Devils). MarVista Entertainment’s CEO Fernando Szew (Fir Crazy, House of Versace) and EVP Production & Development Sharon Bordas (Escape from Polygamy, A Christmas Kiss) also serve as Executive Producers.
